Risk Of Pre-Term Delivery

Realization of delivery prior to 36 weeks is called as preterm delivery and the baby is called as premature. Since development of some organs as mainly lung hasn’t completed yet preterm delivery requires intensive care for the infant.  Premature babies will need intensive care unit and therefore mothers with the risk of pre-term delivery should give birth at a hospital with newborn intensive care unit and it is significant to reduce the possible complications for the baby. 

Expectant mothers with the risk of preterm delivery

 • Diabetes patients
 • Persons below the age of 17 and above the age of 35 
 • Persons with previous pre-term delivery
 • Persons smoking, consuming alcohol and using drug 
 • Persons having lower genital system infection
