Factors affecting health of mother and baby during pregnancy include age of mother (below the age of 18 or above the age of 35), number of pregnancy/multiple-pregnancy, time between the last two pregnancies, chronic diseases, medication, genetic structure, adequate and balanced nutrition. There is a significant relation between the nutrition of pregnant and health of baby. Physical and intellectual growing and development of the baby in the mother’s womb is possible with the adequate and balanced nutrition of the mother during pregnancy. For this reason, balanced nutrition is necessary for the mother to meet her physiological needs (energy and nutrients), keeping the stores in the body balanced (reserve of nutrient), healthy growth and development of the baby, provision of energy and nutrients by the breast milk.
