İzmir Kent Hospital Bone Marrow Transplant Center has opened. Thus, while bone marrow transplant is added to İzmir Kent Hospital Organ Transplant Program after liver and kidney, patient admission to the center has started.

The first autologous stem cell transplant has been made to the patient named Mustafa Karaman (52). In the center with special insulation and 10 rooms, a specially trained and experienced team is performing duty under conduct of hematologists Prof.Dr. İsmet Aydoğdu and Associate Professor Dr. Özcan Çeneli. In the center that will be a ‘’second life’’ address for the patients who struggle with diseases such as leukemia, lymphoma, anemia, allogeneic (transplant made from sibling, family or non-relative donor) and autologous transplants (use of the patient’s own stem cells) will be realized. As in the liver and kidney transplants, the patients will not pay any fees for bone marrow stem cell transplant treatment.
